The judo team clinched one goal, and silver and bronze medals in the junior judo championship hosted in Paris, France.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the president and technical director of the Gambia Judo Association, Abdou Sarjo, said he started judo at a tender age and urged the young judo players to redouble their efforts to improve themselves in the discipline.
Sarjo appealed to the players to take judo serious in order to realize their dreams and aspirations.
The treasurer of the Gambia Judo Association, Nuruden Pazeaud, said the team won one goal and two medals of silver and bronze in the Paris judo championship, adding that they also won trophies in the sub-regional judo championship in Senegal last year.
Pazeaud applauded the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their tireless contribution towards the development of sport in the country, noting that they would redouble their efforts to bring more accolades to the country.
Assan Pazeaud, a judo player, said he was delighted to represent The Gambia at the international championship, something he would work hard to maintain.
