Nigeria's capital city of Abuja will play host to eight teams including Brazil and Spain in an invitational tournament prior to the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, which Nigeria will stage from October 24.
One of the organisers of the tournament, Tunde Aderibigbe, informed Goal.com that the other countries invited for this tournament are African champions Gambia, the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Colombia and the United States of America.
"We have received confirmation from some of these teams and we expect the others to do the same before long," Aderibigbe said.
The competition is slated for between September 27 and October 11.
Besides preparing host nation Nigeria for the World Cup, this invitational tournament will also be used to test-run the facilities at the Abuja match venue, which will stage the opening as well as the final of the World Cup.
