National U-17 Coach Tarik Siagy will test the strength of his side tomorrow in a friendly international match between The Gambia U-17 team with that of Guinea-Bissau at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The match is part of the FA's preparatory efforts for the team's upcoming encounter against Sierra Leone in the first round qualifying matches of the 8th African U-17 Championship Algeria 2009 scheduled for the last weekend of August in Banjul.

The Gambia U-17 team were the 2005 African Champions of the CAF U-17 tournament hosted in Banjul. They put up an impressive performance at the World Championship the same year in Peru.

However, their reign as African champions became short lived when they failed to qualify for the 7th edition in Togo last year. The team could not proceed in the first round stages after been humiliated by Senegal at home and away.

Guinea-Bissau are equally a strong side  having made it to the first round stages  of the qualifiers after defeating Mauritainia  1-0 in both legs  in the preliminary round of the African U-17 Championship earlier in April.

They  will  be meeting Guinea Conakry in the first leg of the qualifiers in Conakry on the weekend of August 29 2008.

The tickets for the game are pegged at D100, D50 and D25 for VIP, Covered and Uncovered Pavilions respectively.
