On Wednesday 4th August 2010, The Gambia's male volleyball team lost their opening game of the Indoor Zone II Volleyball Championship Qualification in the hands of the host nation Senegal by three sets to nil.
The Gambia team later recovered from the fatigue to defeat Guinea Conakry by three sets to two on the same day.
In the female category of the championship on the same day, the host nation's female team also defeated The Gambia's female team by three sets to nil.
At the time of going to press, The Gambia male team were supposed to take on Cape Verde in the other fixture of the championship on Thursday 5th August 2010.
The
teamis expected to return home today,
Friday 6th August 2010.
