The competition is in line with GAF training directives, and the two-week sporting activity is geared toward activating the sportsmanship of the troops, and to bring them together in the name of camaraderie in order to keep a healthy competitive spirit among them.
It is also meant to cement the cordial inter units cooperation, unity and understanding, as well as civil-military cooperation.
There will be competitions in football, volleyball, athletics, a 15 kilometre race, wrestling and a tug of war.
The event will start with a march past led by the army band, remarks by the commandant at defence headquarters and remarks by the GAF sports officer.
The chief of defence staff will preside at the the opening ceremony.
