The tournament will bring together 28 schools that will compete for the trophy.
According to the Director of Olympafrica Centre, Alfusainey Jarju, the programme was introduced last year in The Gambia by Olympafrica Centre Serrekunda East through the Olympafrica Foundation, who are the main sponsors of the event.
Director Jarju added that the whole idea came from Barcelona football club in Spain, whereby a lot of African countries are now teaching their kids how to play futbol net.
He described the game is simple as any other game on the pitch. A pilot project was done with few schools last year, and it was successful, he recalled, adding that through that they were able to organise the competition this year with support from the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC).
16 lower basic schools and 12 upper basic schools will contest in the three-week tournament taking place between 24th February to 15th March 2015.
