Magistrate Jobarteh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently acquitted and discharged one Lamin Jatta, after what the court said the prosecution had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt a charge of obtaining money by false pretence against him.
The charge sheet read that some time in January 2014, at Sanchaba Touba, in the Kanifing Municipality, for the purpose of gaining reward, he collected from one Ousman Dampha D95,350, on the pretext that he was going to help him find or discover his lost money through his occult science.
