Four teams namely- Maccassa FC, Rangers FC, Eden Boarders FC and Ball Conge FC are lined up in the semi-finals of the 2009-10 Serrekunda East Nawettan League Championship, after winning quarter-finals ties.
Maccassa FC sailed to the semi-finals after thrashing Leeds United FC 3-1 in their quarter-final clash last Wednesday 28th October 2009, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
Maccassa FC's goals were scored by Kebba Kujabi, Malick Njie and Dawda Secka in the 36th, 51st and 86th minutes of the game, respectively while Leeds United FC's lone was netted by Amadou Baldeh in the 43rd minute of the game and in the 62nd minute of the game Maccassa FC were reduced to ten men when striker Omar Jasseh, alias Waterman was sent out for unsporting behaviors.
On Tuesday 3rd November 2009, Eden Boarders FC will face Ball Conge FC in the first semi-finals, while Rangers will battle it out with Maccassa FC in the second semi-finals on Wednesday 4th November 2009, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. All matches will kick-off at 4.30pm.
It could be recalled that Ball Conge FC advanced to the semis following their slander narrow 1-0win over Bantaba FC in their quarter clash, while Rangers FC progressed to the semi-finals after defeating London United FC 2-1 in their quarter-finals encounter and Eden Borders FC through to the semi-finals with a 3-1 victory over Juventus FC.
