Sep 24, 2009, 4:53 AM | Article By: Binta Fatty & Abdoulie Nyockeh

Four people: Ebrima L Jarjue, Ebrima D Jarju, Modou Lamin Sanneh, all Senegalese nationals are currently facing charges of "anti-terrorism meeting and obtaining Gambian national I.D. card", at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Principal Magistrate Emmanuel A.K. Amandi.

When the case was called on Wednesday 23rd September 2009, the accused were only arraigned before the court, but the charge sheet was not read to them, due to the fact that the offence committed was not within the jurisdiction of the court and that it is a capital offence.

Based on those grounds, the case was transferred to the High Court.

However, the accused were recently arrested for conducting themselves in a manner which could cause instability in society.

Meanwhile, the accused are remanded in custody pending the outcome of the case.
