Fortune and Waa Banjul were promoted to the
second division after snatching first and second places in the 2016 Gambia
Football Federation third division triangular qualifiers.
The champions of Banjul and West Coast
Region were the two lucky sides to gain promotion to the country’s second tier
after denying the Kanifing Municipality champions Latrikunda United in the
qualifiers.
Fortune and Waa Banjul will be targeting to
win their games in order to cement their position in the second tier and avoid
relegation to the third tier.
The Latrikunda-based outfit need to wait
until next year to try their chance in order to regain promotion to the second
division following their demotion to the third tier in 2014 season.
