This week we continue our coverage, as we promised you last week, of the National Youth Conference and Festival known as NAYCONF. It is a biannual event that brought together over 500 young people from across the country.
Today we start with the sport component.
The sporting activities of NAYCONF shall include
* Football
* Volley ball
* Wrestling
The National Sports Council will take the lead role in the coordination of all sporting activities during the NAYCONF.
Beauty Contest
The beauty contest will enable young ladies to show off their talents during the festival. Participants in this activity will be drawn from all the Regions and Municipalities by one female.
Cultural Shows and Performances
There shall be cultural shows and performances depicting the various cultural practices in The Gambia and the sub-region.
A carnival shall also be held at the end of the whole programme.
