A handful of participants will take part in the first International Cricket Council Level one umpiring course set to open this morning, at the July 22nd Square in Banjul.

The President of the Gambia Cricket Association Johnny Gomez will instruct the two-day event.

Participants are expected to go through a written examination at the end of the course, which will be sent to the ICC office in South Africa for marking.

A pass of any participant will mean ICC will grant him/her the status of A Level One Umpire with a certificate and will take part in international cricket activities.
