As part of its efforts to promote football at the grassroots level, Future In Our Hands (FIOH) organisational development unit recently donated football materials to male and female teams and sport cluster committee in Lower River Region in a colourful ceremony held at Njolfen village. The donated materials include two beautiful trophies, eight sets of football gears, pump, T-shirts, Referee cards, whistles and public address system respectively.
In his presentation Mr. Bubacarr Camara FIOH project coordinator, spoke at length on the importance of the event, adding that the ultimate aim and objective is to create a platform for promoting grassroot football through youth empowerment.
According to Mr. Camara, FIOH is not only development oriented, but also advocates for on the dangers of Hiv/Aids, early marriage, and teenage pregnancy.
In receiving the materials on behalf of the teams and the committee, Mr. Musa Jawo the chairman of the regional sports committee, commended FIOH for their initiative and pledged GFA cooperation and support when ever required. He assured FIOH that the donated items would be put into good and proper use, and urged other organisations to emulate FIOH.
