The crucial GFA adoptive congress this Saturday continues to gather momentum, with the confirmation by World football governing body Fifa that it will be present at the forum to decide the direction of Gambian football.

According to credible sources, Fifa’s national associations and political affairs Primo Carveno, alongside one other official, will be in Banjul over the weekend for the congress.

The congress to take place at the Paradise Suites Hotel is the single most important meeting in the new era of Gambian football.

On that day, the football stallholders would vote to adopt or reject the new constitution which has for long split the football family, with some quarters vehemently opposing controversial changes in the membership.

Meanwhile as the buildup to the congress mounts the GFA was until Tuesday busy distributing some new additions to the draft as recommended by Fifa.

Indications are that the atmosphere would be tense and deliberations serious with delegates eager to push for their inputs and observations to be part of the final document, while officials would be keen to convince all to adopt the draft.
