The jailed UDP Campaign Manager, Femi Peters, has filed an appeal against his conviction at the High Court in
According to his lawyer, Ousainou Darboe, an appeal regarding the matter was filed at the High Court on Monday.
As of now, no date has been given for the matter to be heard, revealed Lawyer Darboe.
Femi Peters was recently convicted and sentenced by the magistrate court to a mandatory jail term of one year. He was also ordered to pay a fine of D10, 000 on the spot.
Peters was arraigned for holding a political rally and using a loudspeaker to be heard in public without permission from the Office of the Inspector General of Police, as required under the Public Order Act.
