EPMDP training underway

A one-month training on Entrepreneurship and Management Development Programme (EMPDP) for staff of the Social Development Fund (SDF) is currently underway at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.
Under the co-ordination of IDEA international institute from Canada, the training seeks, among others, to promote and prepare SDF staff and partners on the implementation of entrepreneurial promotion and micro-finance development.
In declaring the training open, a board member of the Social Development Fund (SDF), George W.L Thomas, said it would be necessary for the SDF to carry out some re-orientations and make available a different disposition for the preparation of its staff and partners on the implementation of entrepreneurial promotion and micro-finance development.
He stated that the SDF is fortunate to have the IDEA international institute in Quebee, Canada, to take on the onus of having them better equipped for the tasks in hand and for the challenges ahead.
For his part, the Fund Manager SDF, Mr. Sonko, said the training on strategic and results based management is all about setting goals and working towards attaining them.
The methodology approach to this management style, he added, integrates strategy, people, and resources, process measurements mechanism to decision-making, and enhances transparency and accountability.
He revealed that the six-week training would be conducted by IDEA international institute, a world class institute widely acclaimed for it expertise in conducting strategic management, results-based management, project management and monitoring and evaluation, amongst others.
