EFA Ends Forum on Civil Society Education

Education for All (EFA) Campaign Network the Gambia, recently ended a one and a half start up workshop in relation to the civil society education fund at Tango Resource Center in Kanifing.

The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize members and partners about civil society education fund proposal in order to establish ownership.

According to the national coordinator of the network Mr. Matarr Baldeh, the workshop aimed at sharing with general membership the project that has been already approved by African Network Campaign on Education for All. He added that it also aims to make members of the EFA Campaign Network know about the project and own it up.

Mr. Baldeh further stated that the project intends to advocate on Education For All, and to remind the government of its commitment to providing free basic education to the citizen of the Gambia. "It also seeks to remind the international donor committee of their pledge to support developing countries like the Gambia and that no country will fail in its quest provide education," he noted. Commenting on the expected outcomes of the workshop, Baldeh responded that the out come has already been achieved since members have agreed and endorsed it and committed themselves to the implementation of the project.
