The multiple criminal-count trial which included economic crime involving Bernd George Diedriech, a German national, and Alieu Barry, a Gambian-British, continued before Justice M. Abdoulah of the Banjul High Court.

The case continued with the testimony of PW3, Demba Njie, who provided a receipt for the money he paid to both accused persons.

The said receipt was tendered by the state counsel, which was admitted and marked as exhibit.

He stated that the money he had paid amounted to D850,000, with the balance of D350,000.

The accused persons are standing trial for the offences which included economic crimes, forgery, uttering, among others.

It was alleged that the accused persons had failed to pay the capital gain to the GRA, thereby causing economic loss to the Government of The Gambia.

The case continues.
