Ecomog,
Saturday thumped Marikin Investment 2-0 in the final of the 2019-2020 Gunjur
knock-out trophy.
The
final was played at the Gunjur Upper and Senior Secondary School football
field.
Ecomog
opened the scores in the 10th minute of the match through Marikin Investment’s
centre-back Alpha Jobe’s own goal.
Striker
Lamin Sambou netted the second goal in the 15th minute to earn the Sifoe
based-team the title.
Marikin
Investment injected in several fresh legs to strengthen their attacking tag but
couldn’t penetrate Ecomog’s formidable line.
As
champions, Ecomog were decorated with a
giant trophy and an undisclosed cash prize, while Marikin Investment also
received an undisclosed prize as runners-up.
The
kick-off was taken by Kebba K. Barrow,
National Assembly Member for Kombo South and majority leader.
