Ebrima Conteh’s 76th-minute strike inspired Jambanjelly to a 1-0 win over Gunjur Kunkujang in the 2015 Kombo South district football tournament played at the Gunjur Kunkujang Football Field at the weekend.
The game was not an easy road to cross as both sides launched several goal-scoring opportunities at each other’s goal mouth, but Jambanjelly were the lucky side to bag the vital three points after striker Ebrima Conteh scored the only goal in the game in the 76th minute of the game to snatch their first win the tournament.
The host responded back for an equalizer but could not break through Jambanjelly solid defence line thus the game ended 1-0 in favour visiting Jambanjelly.
Tanji came from behind to draw 1-1 with Nyofelleh at the Nyofelleh football field on Saturday, while Mamuda also drew 1-1 with Batokunku at the Jambanjelly football field on the same day.
Kartong came from one nil down to draw 1-1 with reigning champions Sifoe at the Kartong football field on Sunday.
Sheriffo Touray gave champions Sifoe the lead in the 30th minute of the game, and Ernest Gibba levelled the scores for Kartong in the 48th minute of the game to share the spoils.
