Gi on Sunday defeated Cannon 1-0 to reach quarterfinal in the ongoing
Serrekunda East Knockout competition played at the Serrekunda East Mini
Stadium.

Sonko came very close to opening the scores for Ebbeh Gi in the 25th minute of
the game but his shot failed to hit the target before Sering Faal netted the
only goal for the Tallinding-based outfit in the 51st minute of the game after
a deadlock in the first period.

Sonko could have doubled Ebbeh Gi’s lead in the 72nd minute of the game but his
effort was denied by the wood work thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Ebbeh
Gi.
Elsewhere,
BJ Academy beat Manchester United on the same score line on the same day to
sail to the quarterfinal in the Serrekunda East summer biggest football fiesta.

Knockout competition after eliminating Cannon and Manchester United in the
round of sixteen at the weekend.
