Lamin ‘Dugal’ Jammeh, head coach of Serrekunda East, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s quarterfinal exit in the2012 Super Nawetan competition, after being eliminated by Brufut on post-match penalty shootout on Tuesday at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

His side created up to five clear chances during the game but squandered all of them, saying the players were jittery in performance because they were playing in their own home ground.

He said his team’s performance during the campaign was good, adding that they did not underrate any team during the competition.

He added that, he has not watched East play prior to their game and that as a result he told his players to defend during the first period of the game.

He stated that Serrekunda East possessed the ball more than his side during the game.He said his team under-performed against East teams compared to their previous games.

“Beating Serrekunda East is a signal to other teams that they are going for the trophy,” he said.

He said he is really proud to lead the team to this stage of the competition because the Brufut committee had confidence in him and called him to come and lead the team.

He noted that they want to show a respectable performance in the competition as this is their first year to participate in the competition.

He said they are the only team that has not lost a game since the start of the competition.
