Momodou Barry and Amadou Sarra Jallow were recently arraigned before Magistrate Jallow of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with stealing.
Both pleaded not guilty of the charge and were subsequently remanded in custody.
According to the charge sheet, on 2 June 2011, at Pipeline, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused persons, Momodou Barry, and Amadou Sarra Jallow, jointly stole four manhole covers by using an iron bar to lift them from their original position. The total cost of the items stolen is D20,000.
The case was adjourned till 13 June 2011.
