One Omar Sanneh, a driver, was recently granted court bail of D10, 000 with two Gambian sureties by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, after he admitted to the offence of dangerous driving.

facts of the case as narrated before the court stated that the accident
happened on 22 February 2012 along
The facts added that a motor vehicle with registration number BJL7023F, driven by one Lamin Touray, was coming from Brikama heading towards Serrekunda with 13 passengers onboard, while a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 7253E, was driven by the defendant.
It was revealed in the facts of the case that the defendant, upon reaching the Forest Park, overtook another vehicle in front and as a result, knocked the motor vehicle BJL 7023F, which subsequently fell down.
The facts further stated that some passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to the Brikama Health Centre, where they were treated and discharged.
When the Mobile Police in Brikama were informed, they visited the scene and prepared a sketched plan, which was endorsed by both drivers.
Both vehicles were later tested and the defendant was served with a warning letter, the facts concluded.
The case was adjourned till 28 March 2012, for judgement.
