Driver convicted for obstruction, unlicensed driving

Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on 14 March 2011 convicted and sentenced one Musa Badjie, a driver, for obstruction and unlicensed driving.

Musa Badjie, who pleaded guilty of the offence charged, was convicted and sentenced, on count one, to a fine of D2,000 in default to serve two months in prison and, on count two, he was fined D5,000 in default to serve three months in prison.

According to the charge sheet, on count one, on 12 August 2010, at Tabokoto, between 1800 and 1900 hours, the convict, Musa Badjie, drove a motor vehicle with registration number BJL 9477F, without a driving licence and stopped at a place, thereby caused obstruction to other road users.
