"The accused told me that, during the treatment, she delivered a baby boy, and that she became unconscious and when she regain consciousness, she discovered that the baby has died. Then she wrapped the baby in her clothes, and put it in a plastic nylon bag and placed it under the bed of one Binta Sanyang," detective Bah told the court.

The accused, CPL Sey Bah added, further told him that, on the following morning, when Binta Sanyang entered her house, she got a different smell, conducted a search and found wrapped clothes inside the nylon bag.

Binta then informed her husband, who also informed the alkalo of the village, and the alkalo called the Sibanor Police Station.

Detective Sey Bah revealed further that the Sibanor police visited the scene, and the accused person was arrested and taken, with the dead body of the baby, to the Sibanor health centre for medical check up, and the doctor confirmed that the accused has newly-delivered.
