Ebrima Sowe, accused of murder, recently continued his defence testimony at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul.

Sowe denied the allegation against him, saying that all what was said against him was a plot against him.

He stated that he was arrested on 14 April 2011 at Bakoteh, denying he was a fugitive after the fight.

“I sustained a serious injury and I was also hospitalised,” he explained, saying that even after his fight with the deceased, the deceased also had a fight with another man, but his family members never mentioned the name of that person.

The last time he saw the deceased he was walking normal when he (Sowe) was also discharged from the hospital, he said.

He said the whole thing was conspiracy against him, because no witness had mentioned that he saw him stabbing the deceased with a broken bottle.

“It was a set up against me,” he stated.

Hearing continues.
