The plaintiff, Halifa Manneh had dragged one Adama Loum to court, claiming D500, 000, being the cost of a piece of land which the defender fails to surrender to him.
Testifying before the court, the plaintiff witness, one Malan Kujabi told the court that the plaintiff entrusted the compound to him while he (the plaintiff) traveled away.
According to the witness, the plaintiff, Halifa Manneh informed him that he had asked the defendant to sell his land at a cost of D500, 000, which he did but fails to surrender the proceeds to him.
He further indicated that when the plaintiff could not get back his money, he decided to report the matter to the defendant's family.
He adduced that the plaintiff told the defendant's mother that he has handed over his piece of land to her son for sale but could not get his money back.
The case was presided over by senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court.
