D100,000 Bail Bond for A Suspect

The Kanifing Magistrates' Court presided over by senior Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay yesterday granted court bail in the sum of D100,000 with landed property to the accused Amadou Sowe.

Mr Sowe was charged with the offence of uttering false document contrary to section 328 of the criminal code cap 10 volume III laws of The Gambia.

According to the particulars of the alleged offence, some time in the month of July 2008 the Accused uttered the September salary of one Bakary Kanteh an employee of Malak Chemist knowing that the said document was forged.

The case was adjourned until 27th February 2009.

In a separate development one Ebrahima Kano, a Ghanaian national recently appeared at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Mbake for allegedly stealing a goat.

According to the stated facts the Accused on 11th January 2009 in Kanifing South stole a goat valued at D2000 being the property of Isatou Jawara.

The case was adjourned until 29th February 2009
