The Banjul Magistrates’ Court presided over by acting-Principal Magistrate Tawio Alagba yesterday issued a subpoena to the director of Physical Planning, Junkun Colley, to come and testify as a defence witness (DW4 ) in the trial of lawyer Moses Richards.
Richards is being tried on charges of giving false information and sedition.
When the proceedings resumed yesterday, senior defence counsel Antouman Gaye said they want the magistrate to sign a summons for defence witness four, Junkun Colley, who is holding a public office, to appear before the court.
He added that they could only get the defence witness with a summons from the court.
The trial magistrate subsequently signed the subpoena to be served to Junkun Colley, to appear before the court on the next adjournment date.
The case was adjourned till 6th June 2011 for continuation.
