Court Rules in Favour of Access Bank

Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court on Tuesday entered judgment in favour of Access Bank (plaintiff) against the defendant one Adama Samba (trading as Value Engineering) for the recovery of the sum of D24, 458, being the amount overdrawn on the defendant's account with the plaintiff in the name of Value Engineering, interest at the rate of 23% per annum from 5th August 2008 to the date of judgment, cost, and any further or other relief.

The presiding magistrate, Mr. Mbake in his judgment told the court that the defendant Adama Samba (trading as value engineering) has been absent for three times without notifying the court the reason for his absence.

The court ordered the defendant Adama Samba to pay the plaintiff, Access Bank Gambia Limited, the sum of 24,758.11 which includes court cost plus 10% interest per annum from August 2008, within 14 days.
