The criminal trial of theft and receiving stolen properties involving Omar Gassama, Edrisa Camara, Karamba Ceesay and Mbye Kebbeh proceeded recently at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Drammeh.

According to the charge sheet, on 17 March 2011, at Sankung Sillah & Sons Company, the first, second and third accused persons jointly stole machine spare parts (metals) and metro iron pipes valued at D174,900, being the property of the said company.

The charge sheet on count two stated that the fourth accused received or retained machine spare parts (metals) and iron pipes from Omar Gassama, Karamba Ceesay and Edrisa Camara, the first, second and third accused persons respectively, knowing or having reason to believe same to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.

He said that on 17 March 2011, he reported for work at around 8 a.m. and was informed by his accountants and managers that some spare parts were missing.
