Brikama Magistrates’ Court on Monday heard a testimony in a drug case involving one Saikou Jammeh.

Testifying, the first prosecution witness (PW1), Ebul K. Bayo, told the court he knew the accused person and could recall what happened on 4 July 2012.

According to Bayo, on the day in question between 5pm and 5:30 pm, he went to the accused’s residence in Tujereng to give him his money because the accused had worked for him.

“As I was in the house of the accused person together with other men, Abdoulie Colley and Abba Tamba, a team of Operation Bulldozer, met them there and they introduced themselves and that they wanted to conduct a search on them, to which they agreed,” he said.

“A search was conducted and nothing was found on him, Abba Tamba and Abdoulie Colley,” he said, adding that the accused was searched and suspected cannabis was found in his chest pocket.

Mr Bayo further adduced that the accused was then arrested and taken to the police station.

Hearing was adjourned till 1 December 2012.
