Upon resumption of the game, Commit regrouped themselves and dominated ball possession, mounted heavy pressure on NAS FC and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities.

Their efforts paid dividend in the 47th minute of the game when winger wizard Kansidia Touray Chala netted the opener from a clever free kick, before Kalifa Touray sealed victory in the 66th minute of the stunning header from Kansidia Touray’s brilliant free kick to make it 2-0 for the device boys, dashing NAS’s hopes of coming back to their feet.

NAS FC fought back and created some scoring chances but managed to pull back only one deficit through former Gambia U-20 and Steve Biko midfielder Demba Sanyang in the 70th minute of the game, which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for NAS.

On Friday 27 September 2013, Steve Biko beat Late Dembo FC 1-0 to seal a place in the semi-final courtesy of striker Mbemba Manneh in the 70th minute of the game and the lone goal was Mbemba’s fourth goal in Gunjur Nawetan season. He is currently the leading goal scorer in the 2013-2014 Nawettan.

Sunderland FC have progressed to the semi-final following their 4-3 penalty shootout win over reigning league and Super Cup champions World Eleven, after a goalless draw in the regulation time on Saturday.

Elsewhere, debutant Alex Sanchaba FC advanced to the semi-final after beating cellular boys Gamcel FC on the same score-line on Sunday.
