Dr Amr ELWANI, president of the Confederation of African Volleyball Federation (CAVB), has acknowledged the presence of Musa Casa Taal, president of The Gambia Volleyball Association (GVA) at the just ended decoration of Burkina Faso’s President Blaise Campaore in Ouagadougou describing it as remarkable.

The GVA’s supremo a few days ago returned to Banjul from Ouagadougou where he joined a host of other presidents of African volleyball federations that attended a colourful ceremony marking the decoration of among others Burkina Faso’s president who took to the stage to receive an award by the Zone 3 Volleyball Federation in recognition of his valuable contribution to the development of volleyball in Zone 3.

The letter of acknowledgement to Gambia’s Cassa Taal dated 26 October 2011 reads:

It was a true pleasure meeting you in this big event at Burkina Faso on the 22nd and 23rd of October 2011. I hope that you had a safe trip back.

I felt great pride for Africa to have such a remarkable attendance of African Federations’ Presidents, which is a demonstration of how we are determined to develop and grow.

The active participation of both the FIVB and CAVB to this event was a great benefit that represents the big efforts of all National Federations.

It is through the exchange of ideas, comments and suggestions that CAVB will be able to know more about your plan and needs.

We understand that it is not always easy to take part in such official events outside of your country, but I am sure that you realised how important it was to have your country represented at this event.

We have learned and understood how FIVB and the World of Volleyball are developing, and how this development will equally enable Africa to receive more support than the past.

Dear brother, please accept my humble thanks for your fruitful participation and we hope that you will continue to attend all the important CAVB official meetings, so you can continue to play an effective role for the development of Volleyball in your Country.

The two-day event held at the presidential residence in Oaugadougou also witnessed the decoration of three other sports personalities including Sawadougou, president of Zone 3 Volleyball Federation, Pointsport can confirm.
