A technical expert, Francis Oti Akenteng, has arrived in Banjul after constant consultation with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and The Gambia Football Federation to help restructure its technical department.
Mr Akenteng is the Technical Director of Ghana Football Association and CAF Education Officer, GFF has announced.
He is also a CAF instructor and a member of the CAF technical committee and has served as coach for all the various categories of Ghana national teams.
He last coached the Black Stars in 1997 as head coach before he was redeployed to the U-20 national side.
Mr Akenteng arrived in The Gambia on Friday 28 June 2013 and has started preliminary discussion ahead of assisting the Gambia Football Federation build up a strong technical arm.
He has held briefings with the GFF staff and senior Gambian technicians. Mr Akenteng will collaborate with the Gambia Football Coaches Association to help identify the various structures of the Technical Arm.
The Gambia Football Federation counts on the support of the general public for Mr Francis Oti Akenteng’s smooth working condition during his stay in the smiling coast.
