Youth Partnership Project Holds One-day Forum

The Youth Partnership Project, a new youth project under the Child Protection Alliance, last Thursday held a one-day forumfor its partners, schools and shelters in The Gambia, at the KMC Chambers.

The meeting, among others, aimed at orienting all stakeholders on the Youth Partnership Project, which saw the general overview of youth partner project in the country, its peer supported activities, micro projects and discussion on the role of schools and shelters.

Speaking at the forum, Nyundu Drammeh, CPA's National Coordinator highlighted the importance of Youth Partnership Project to the children of the Gambia, as well as the youths. He stated that the project will focus on key area support programmes, child trafficking and CSEC, among others.

Mr. Drammeh, however, revealed that the Child Protection Alliance and The Gambia are part of international alliance to protect children from all forms of sexual behaviors, noting that schools that are selected to be part of the project are long time partners.

For his part, Mr. Junkung Jobarteh gave an overview of the global Youth Partnership Project goals, objectives and key activities which, he said, covers children and youths' victims of child abuse, commercial sexual exploitation and those children who are at risk of sexual exploitation and trafficking.
