A press release signed by IEC Chairman Alhajie Mustapha L. Carayol stated further: “In accordance with Section 91 subsection 3 of the 1997 Constitution of The Republic of The Gambia, the Independent Electoral Commission will conduct a National Assembly By-election for the Janjanbureh Constituency in the Central River Region on Thursday 12th March 2015.
“This by-election is necessitated by the demise of Honourable Foday Jabani Manka, the erstwhile National Assembly Member of the said constituency.”
