Bwiam Semis After Ramadan

Twelve football teams are taking part in Bwiam 2009 Nawettan proper season out of which four teams that had already qualified for the semi-final stages.

Speaking to this reporter in Bwiam Village last Sunday, the Chairman of Bwiam Youth and Sports Development Association (BYSDA), Badara Sanneh, said the Nawettan is organised by his association with funding from Solo Marri of Marri International Company Ltd, based in Busumbala Village, who is a native of Bwiam Village in Foni Kansala District of Western Region.

Chairman Sanneh said four teams had already booked their tickets to the semi-final stages and had given names for those qualified as Lion of Juda, Kanfenda FC, Sanchaba United and Sonkos FC, the defending champions for 2008 Nawettan season.

According to Mr. Sanneh, his association is yet to fix the date for the two semi-finals, adding that the two semis would be played after the Ramadan.

The teams that played the first round are as follows: Group A, Lion of Juda, Burock and Kurunulai, Group B, Kanfenda FC, Scorpions and Bajonkoto United, Group C, Kankuntu FC, Monom FC, Sanchaba United and Group D, Mission FC, Ugo 11 and Sonkos FC.
