Businessman testifies in attempt to commit felony case

The first prosecution witness (PW1), Lamin Touray, recently testified in the trial involving one Bai Serign Joof, accused of attempting to commit a felony, before Magistrate Gomez of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

Touray told the court that he recognised the accused person, and could recall what happened on 23 August 2015.

He testified that on the said date, his van was parked at the side of his restaurant and some of his staff were sitting in front of the said restaurant.

His driver came to work and when he got into the car, he found the accused inside, adding that the driver asked the accused how he got into the car.

The accused said he did not know, and he reported to his boss that the accused was inside the car.

According to Touray, he went with the driver to the car and found the accused at the back seat.

He asked him how he got into the car and the accused said he went through the window, adding he took the accused to the Bakoteh Police Station, where his statement was recorded.

The case was adjourned to 21 September 2015.
