Midfielder Bubacarr Trawally, left-back Pa Modou Jagne and captain Abdou Jammeh are both set to miss The Gambia’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers away to Mauritania on Friday 25 March 2016 in Noahoatte.

Their omission from the final twenty-man squad was announced by head coach Sang Ndong at a press conference held at the Gambia Football Federation Secretariat in Kanifing Layout yesterday.

Coach Sang Ndong said Pa Modou Jagne was among the foreign-based players invited for the double leg tie against the Mauritanians, but he was omitted from the final twenty-man list due to injury he sustained in an accident.

Coach Sang Ndong further lamented that Bubacarr Trawally alias Steve was also among the foreign-based players for the Mauritania tie, but removed from the final twenty-man squad after recovery from injury.

According to coach Ndong, captain Abdou Jammeh was also among the foreign-based players invited for the game against Mauritania. He has also been omitted from the final twenty-man squad after it was realised that he recently received two yellow cards.
