The alleged murder case involving one Awa Sanyang of Brusubi, in the Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before Justice Emmanuel Nkea.

The accused, Awa Sanyang, was alleged to have murdered one Isatou Bojang, some time in 2012, a charge she had since denied.

ASP Lamin Cham continued his testimony under cross-examination, telling the court that he had served the police force for almost 22 years, adding that he could not tell how long the quarreled between the accused and the deceased lasted.

He further adduced that he could not tell what had happened between the two that led to the fight, adding that murder cases are transferred from various offices to their office at the Major Crime Squad.

“I was told by the accused that they had a quarreled and they fight,” ASP Cham told the Special Criminal Court in Banjul, adding that the accused had some scratches on her neck.

“As a result of the fight, blood stain were found on the floor. Which were confirmed to be the blood of the deceased, Isatou Bojang,” he said, further stating that no fingerprint examination was conducted in the case.

The case continues.
