Brufut
have dashed Gunjur’s hope of reaching the quarterfinal of the 2019
Africell-sponsored super nawettan after thumping South boys 2-0 in the group D
game, played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Tuesday.
The
Sannementereng boys require a victory against Gunjur to keep their chances of
qualifying to the quarterfinal after losing three points to Sanyang for
fielding ineligible player Yaya Dibba in their group match.
They
gripped vital three points after netting two goals without Gunjur replying to
land their first win in this year’s super nawettan.
Brufut
now snatched 3 points in two games and Gunjur with 2 points in three group matches
with one more game to play against Sanyang this Saturday at the Brikama Box Bar
Mini Stadium.
Meanwhile,
Barra, Essau and Mayamba (BEM) defeated Sanyang 1-0 to land their first victory
in this year’s super Nawettan.
They
now secured 5 points in three group matches and Sanyang with 4 points in three
group matches.
