British Ambassador hosts Chevening Welcome Back event

On 13 January 2016 The British Ambassador to The Gambia, Colin Crorkin, hosted a Chevening reception at the Ambassador’s residence to welcome back two returning Chevening Scholars (2014/15) Ms Mam Ndeban Jobe and Mr Bakau Dem.

Ms Jobe successfully completed a one-year M.A. in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, whilst Mr Dem received an Msc in Engineering, Technology and Business Management from UK universities.

The event was attended by a cross-section of guests comprising members of the private sector, the media, NGOs, Chevening Alumni, and Embassy staff.

Ms Jobe and Mr Dem expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to study at UK Universities and the invaluable experiences gained.

Ambassador Crorkin congratulated the duo on their achievement.

Mr Dawda Jallow of the Chevening Alumni also gave a speech on behalf of the Alumni welcoming the scholars to the Association.
