The 2010-2011 league champions Brikama United came from behind to share points with Interior after a 1-1 draw in their week-two fixtures in the 2012-2013 Gamtel-Gamcel sponsored GFA league played at the Brikama Mini Stadium on Sunday.
Brikama United drew 1-1 with Young Africans in their opening game and Interior were thumped 4-1 by Gambia Ports Authority in their opening game.
Both sides came into the game with the objective of bagging the maximum points to keep their hopes of clinching the league.
The game was no easy road to cross and both teams caused serious assaults in front of the goal mouth of each other but it was Interior who were able to utilise their limited goal-scoring opportunities through striker Ebou Sanyang in the 29th minute of the game from Papa Salifu Badjie’s cross, to give his side the lead.
Brikama United fought back and levelled the score through striker Ebou Kanteh in the 74th minute of the game after dribbled past Interior defence to cancel out Ebou Sanyang’s 29th-minute strike to share the spoils.
Young Africans beat Bakau United 1-0 at the Serrekunda East Stadium, while Samger also beat Gambia Ports Authority on the same score line at the Banjul Mini Stadium on the same day.
Brikama United have collected 2 points in two games, Interior have collected a point in two games, Young Africans have collected 4 points in two games, and Bakau United have collected 3 points in two games.
Furthermore, Samger have bagged 4 points in two outings, while Gambia Ports Authority have collected 3 points in two games.
