Sunday’s opening game will be the third meeting of Brikama and Brufut in the Skye Bank Gambia Limited country’s community prestigious football showpiece.
Brikama lost to Brufut 1-0 in the group stage last season but lashed Brufut 3-1 in the semi-final before battering Bakau 3-2 in a tightly-contested final game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to clinch their first-ever Super Nawettan title after several years of trophy drought.
Brufut beat Brikama 1-0 in the group stage but lost to Brikama 3-1 in the semi-final at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium last year.
The Sateba boys will be hoping for a victory to seal the maximum points to stand a better chance of qualifying for the quarterfinal as well as of keeping their hopes of retaining their 2012 Super Nawettan crown.
The coastal town boys will also be preparing to revenge, after losing to Sateba boys 3-1 in the semi-final last season, to keep their chances of qualifying for the quarterfinal.
