Black Pool FC have maintained their astonishing form in the 2012 Brikama Nawettan competition after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fredericton Wanders FC in a well-contested game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium at the weekend.
Fredericton Wanders FC won their previous outings in a grand style and are sofar unbeaten in the Brikama Nawettan this year but were reluctant to snatch a victory against formidable Black Pool FC, who are also unbeaten in their last games.
Black Pool FC opened the score through GPA striker Saloum Faal in the 27th minute of the game from a Pa Sulayman Badjie cross to give his side the lead, which eventually proved to be the winner for Black Pool.
Fredericton Wanders fought back for an equalizer and created several goal-scoring chances but they failed to capitalize on them, thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Black Pool.
The victory has put Black Pool on the driving seat and are therefore on the verge of progressing to the second round of the Nawettan.
Fredericton Wanders FC, on the other hand, need to win their remaining games in order to advance to the second round of the Nawettan.
