The championship is expected to feature both male and female categories.
The 2013 edition will be the second edition, and the first edition was absolutely successful and stunning, producing brilliant exhibition of skills and panache and attracting spectators from Brikama and its satellite areas for the town’s biggest sporting jamboree.
The annual Brikama marathon run, organised by Brikama Athletics Association (BAA), is meant to promote, nurture and develop athletes in Brikama and the West Coast Region.
The president of the BAA, Lamin Camara, alias Lang Kah, urged the athletes to train hard for the championship, adding that it is geared towards scouting good athletes for the Brikama athletic team.
