Boy in Court for Assault

One Buba Jarju was on 6 th April 2009 arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh, charged with assault causing actually bodily harm contrary to section 228 of the criminal code cap 10 volume III laws of the Gambia 1990. He denied the charge.

According to the facts of the offence, on 3rd March 2009 at Brikama Kombo Central, the accused was alleged to have assaulted one Modou Lamin Jarju by beating and hitting him thereby causing him actually bodily harm.

According to the Mr Jarju the complainant, he went to the compound of the accused to look after his rabbits, there then a sorts of misunderstanding arose between the accused and him, adding that the accused started beating him.

At that juncture the case was adjourned to the 13th of April 2009.
