"Since I delivered this son some ten year ago, he has always been like this. He cannot put on a shoe since he has both his legs like this, and even his hands are also in the same condition," these were the words of the mother of ten-year-old Hamsa Jallow of Latri Kunda German.
The mother who walked into our office yesterday said his son was born with a disability, which makes life very difficult for him.
"I used to put him on my back to and from school every day, but now he is heavy and does even feel shy about that", she said.
Hamsa is a grade 2 pupil at Dondon Mark Foundation School in Kotu.
According to his mother, the family has been trying to treat him since he was two years old, but without success. They have taken him to many health facilities including the RVTH, and have been told that the boy needs treatment overseas, since he cannot be treated in The Gambia.
